  • Alphonso Johnson -fretless bass- friends since 1986s.”-I took up fretless bass when I heard Al play on Weather  Report and his solo albums”
  • Jaco Pastoruis -fretless bass- friends since 1986 before he passed.
  • Victor Wooten- met at Gelb Workshop- 90’s

  • Ken Wild- fretted & fretless. Studied with 80s.

  • Gary Karr- met at Marin Community College in 70s.
  • Edgar Meyer- met at rehearsal in Marin Community- 2000’s

Jazz:

  • Miroslav Vitous- and Weather Report at UH and also at Keystone Corner- 70s. 
  • Did not chat with him but managed to hang out with Joni Mitchell and Don Alias after downstairs afterwards at Keystone.
  • Reggie Workman- saw Keystone Corner-70s. Managed to say hello.
  • Ron Carter- saw Keystone Corner-70s. Chatted about bass lessons.
  • Buster Williams- with Ron Carter at Keystone and chatted with workshop at Musicians Union in 2007
